I read Dune: Messiah yesterday. Compared to the first book, it's just not as good. And despite the author saying a main point is to make you realize that Paul is not meant to be someone to be admired, I think he did a better job with that in the first book.

@blinry We've been making a great many snow people around here and the only photo I found without childrens faces in it was the day it snowed such a snow that it wouldn't stick and thus we just made a tiny snow person. But I argue we should all make more snow folk!

I'm enough of an idealist that I once would say that Russia shouldn't have been banned by the contest, but 2024 made me stopped saying such things. I would like my idealism back though. And even in the 2023 contest I could see endless politics (I may agree that Ukraine shouldn't be invaded but I also see the crazy PR that Ukraine is putting on through the show, notably in 2023).
