McCarthy is a simple man. Don't bog him down in complexities like doors that can't be locked from the outside.
I'm a pretty hard-headed, sciencey kind of guy. But there is something about a tree, about plant life, about the natural world... It's easy to see it as an expression of the life force... It seems so obvious, reaching up to the sun and the sky. And then you look around and you see life expressing itself in so many different ways...

I'm guessing that would be Jim French. He sounds like a fascinating guy. At first I thought he might be related to John 'Drumbo' French, who also played with Kaiser, but I see Jim is from OK.
I've heard some amazing accidental mashups over the years.
If Musk "steps down" as Twitter CEO, per his latest bogus "poll", some things to remember:
1) He'll still be in control. The owner sets the policy the CEO carries out. The owner decides in the end.
2) He lies incessantly. Nothing he says can be trusted, ever.
3) Big Journalism will breathlessly cover the charade as if it meant something, and will continue to support a man who loathes honest reporting and has contempt for genuine freedom of expression.

I didn't realize there was a notification sound here. I must have it turned off. Which is the way I would want it.
That said, the sample rate jump happens as soon as I open up a mastodon post.
(It also sometimes happens when I go to a magazine or media site that is running video ads in the background, which are presumably running at 48k. But that's sort of understandable.)
