He's just this guy, y'know?
@PinkCathodeCat Is that normal for Arch to have that large of an update every month?

@[email protected] There's an interesting text editor by some Googlers that implements the rope structure for its text handling. It's early stages, but diving through the code is quite fun.

@rhys @[email protected] I wonder if Tweetbot for Mastodon would scare Twitter into rethinking their plans. They've got to know that if they degrade third party apps too much, they'll start losing users.

@baldur Questionable too if this is the type of thought they should be giving it. I know it's Apple and they don't want to just release a grey cheese grater again, but if the product at the end of this cycle isn't amazing, they'll lose the market for this type of machine for a long time.

Assuming they haven't lost it already with what will end up being a 6 year gap in between releases of their highest-end Mac.

@[email protected] Based on those reviews, seems like the plan has backfired quite badly. The Times was quick to pull it from its list though, lending some credence to it being a scam.

@Admin I think blocking for reasons of not liking what the persons are saying is problematic. But having a hardline no blocking rule can lead to issues too, especially if there's an instance that perpetuates trolling or illegal activities. Trying to work around that can be more trouble for you and not even end in a good spot.

Dealing with legit abuse and crime has little to do with being for or against freedom of speech.

@Admin I thought it was a great game. It improved on many aspects of Human Revolution gameplay-wise, but the story wasn't quite up to HR's standard. Still good, just not exactly the same.

If you enjoyed Human Revolution, you'll enjoy Mankind Divided.

@BirdMachine That's how I feel every night. I've contemplated trying to work graveyard shift again just due to how much I could get done on my nights off. 10 hours uninterrupted time twice a week where I can stay up all night working on whatever I want? Yes please.
I've been spending so many of my evenings learning Rust that I've started to dream about working in the language. But since I still don't have a solid grasp on the language, it's all just generic dreams of me using it, and not using that dreamtime to solve any problems that I'm having. #rust #rustlang
@sbohems @davidpgil Technically feasible, but trying to skirt around what's likely against Googles TOS isn't the way to do things. Especially if they constantly find ways to break it, or ban the IPs of the proxies. Then it just leads to a bad user experience when translate sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
