@profcarroll it is well hidden, but the network responsiveness test is perhaps more valuable information. https://support.apple.com/en-us/101942
Test Wi-Fi networks with Apple Network Responsiveness - Apple Support

The Apple Network Responsiveness test measures the responsiveness of a network, or its ability to multitask when multiple devices and apps are sharing the network at the same time.

@[email protected] the faq has a broken link for otsav. Perhaps https://otsav.ots7.com/playout-system/ would be better?
OtsAV: What is a playout system?

@IceCubesApp These are my biggest complaints about the app currently, and make it feel broken. Thank you!
@IrisRichardson @dendari @futurebird I would love that but I must push back against the claim that buying local and making from scratch would be more economical (if you mean less expensive). The reason most chain restaurants don’t do this is because it is far more expensive especially when you count labor costs.
@jef I’ve read about these but thought they were literally made from pallet wood and have thought that it was a terrible idea for flammability.
@nicolas17 @mjg59 @liw this is my go-to source for deeper understanding, but as a user it requires so little attention or maintenance. iCloud backup on iOS is similarly simple and reliable but it is a mystery why there is no way to pay Apple to back up your Mac to iCloud. Time Machine in Sonoma: strengths and weaknesses

What is Time Machine best at doing? What are its current limitations in macOS Sonoma, when backing up to APFS? A draft list.

@liw @mjg59 users can restore a backup to a new Mac, or browse for different versions of specific files and folders. Destinations can be encrypted and network mounts shared as destinations can have quotas. Backups happen at a low processor priority. System files and applications from the App Store aren’t backed up to save space since they are available elsewhere
@liw @mjg59 pick a destination drive (can be local, or shared from another Mac or NAS, optionally add volumes or folders to an exclusion list. It then uses file system snapshots as a basis for hourly backups (locally if the destination is unplugged or unavailable) and stores them in a way (hard links?) that that minimizes storage use. Older versions of files go back for as long as there is available storage space. Multiple destinations are used round robin.
@tabacco @christianselig I used to be a barista and roaster and I own and endorse this machine. Not fiddly in terms of being able to adjust temperature or timing of when the water is dispensed, but easy to clean, nice shower head, and simple to use. The carafe stays hot for a long time and doesn't cook the coffee. No way to use a timer/alarm, but that's not important to me.
@[email protected] They pay out almost all of their revenue as royalties. One might argue about the distribution/individual share of that pile, but they aren't keeping it.
