The worst part is this is literally all for oil. You know, the thing that is destroying the habitability of our planet. They want to own it and burn it and drink it for fun. But mostly they want to control it, because they think it gives them power. Meanwhile, others have done what we should be doing, and invested drastically in renewable energy and the electrification of their infrastructure. So this stranglehold on oil that they are killing and lying and killing and lying for, is losing even the strategic relevance that they tell themselves justifies their petrocultist fetishism.
