@jsnell Ha ... I was writing to let you know you can turn off Apple Sports Live Activities per team, but your real-time follow-up beat me to it.
There *was* a very irritating bug in this for a while, that would keep re-enabling Live Activities for followed teams you had disabled, but it seems to have been fixed recently.
