I've been thinking about how I'd like to start using #Costco more. We don't live near one, but we do get a fair bit of our household supplies delivered from Amazon subscribe and save -- especially paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, and cat food. Is Costco a good replacement for that? I tried looking at their site and found it a little difficult to search, but I think maybe it's because they just don't carry the brands I'm used to seeing?

I came across a facebook meme that included this image of Earth from space and it turns out that it's widespread across the internet as a generic "earth" option on free stock image sites and while it's clearly rotated with north on the left I'm pretty sure it's also mirrored (Americas on the top, Europe bottom-left and Africa bottom-right) so it would be impossible to have this view in real life without looking in a mirror. I wonder how this image came to be like this.

A common one is dB #SPL, which stands for "Society of Professional Listeners", a bunch of people who you can hire to get a professional opinion on how loud a sound is.

There's a somewhat prominent Mastodon user who is hosting a fundraiser for food banks, which is lovely (I gave directly to my local food bank this week and they've been a regular charity for me in the past as well) but their fund drive is only for food banks in states with Democrat trifectas and it makes me feel so icky to be using hunger as a political weapon (like the other side is doing.)
