4/4 🔓 And it's all open: models, data, and analysis code are fully publicly available. Science that's transparent, reproducible, and useful for policy makers. #OpenScience #IAMC #Inequality #ClimateChange
🛠️ 3/4 Behind these results: a full cascade modelling pipeline: from country-level climate policy (GCAM-Europe) → to atmospheric pollutants concentrations (rfasst) → and machine learning for socioeconomic vulnerability patterns; all the way down to 1 km² and NUTS3 resolution for policy-ready insights.
🔎 2/4 Low-income households and urban areas, especially in Balkan countries, face disproportionate PM2.5 exposure. Using high-resolution 1 km² modelling + machine learning, we go beyond national averages to uncover who is really bearing the health cost of the energy transition. 📊
🧵 1/4 Europe's climate policies are cutting emissions; but are they cutting them fairly? Our new study reveals that even under ambitious targets (NECPs & Fit-for-55), over 153,000 premature deaths from air pollution are still projected for 2030. And the burden is far from equal. 👇

💥 New study published in The Lancet Regional Health - Europe!

A socioeconomic assessment of projected health impacts from outdoor air pollution under current European climate policy: a modelling study

Still a lot to do to bridge the gap 💜

First and last authors more likely to be men in leading science journals

Women’s participation in science has risen sharply, but a Nature Index analysis finds that gender gaps in first and last authorship — markers of key scientific achievements — have barely shifted over the past decade.

🌏 Planeta zaintzea osasungarria da.

Planeta zaintzea osasungarria da

Ez da hartz polar edo glaziar urrunen kontua bakarrik. Muturreko bero boladek eta arnasten dugun aireak zuzenean eragiten diote gure osasunari eta, ondorioz, gure ekonomiari. Gizarte gaixo batek la...
