Night Gleam is northern lights, Ecdysis means "molting", his name represents how he changes into different forms more often than any other changeling (like insects change their appearance after molting) and doesn't live in changelings' society (he "molted himself off" them like unnecessary skin). he left them and travels the world, pretending to be different species. Night Gleam may be one of his forms
