Every weekend should be a three day weekend.

Listen up Mastodonians, because this is important:

Right now we have a unique chance to rise up and hit back against Zuckerberg and Musk. Because italian filmmaker @_elena and her friends have made an OUTSTANDING short film, which explains why people should quit the fascist social networks and come join us in the fediverse.

Hit the fascists where it hurts — make this go viral by watching it and liking it on YouTube, then hit the share button and share it everywhere!

Hot off the presses: DOGE Worker's Code Supports NLRB Whistleblower

Yes, I turned another "oh btw" update here into a story. Please read/RT (thx!). Here's the top bit:

"A whistleblower at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) alleged last week that denizens of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) siphoned gigabytes of data from the agency's sensitive case files in early March. The whistleblower said accounts created for DOGE at the NLRB downloaded three code repositories from GitHub. Further investigation into one of those code bundles shows it is remarkably similar to a program published in January 2025 by Marko Elez, a 25-year-old DOGE employee who has worked at a number of Musk's companies."

I’ve long asserted that many of society’s problems relate to a fundamental ignorance of statistics and I’m a big proponent of kids taking stats in school - certainly there is probably room to improve how it’s taught, but I digress.

The last few years have convinced me that macro economics is also a basic necessity to be a functioning member of society. I can feel my neurons shriveling up and dying every time I listen to discussions on who pays for tariffs and a misunderstanding of how government spending slots into gdp, and even how interest rates work.

How does this email scam work? This is a legit "Delivery Status Notification" from Google. But the Facebook email it's quoting is actually an image (served from _hzdavmzkdfcacdjq-.bluelight.com.de/img/SKJfVGrmKhOxlKJq) and has a mailto: link with a bunch of random email addresses in it. Is this just a worm or an actual phishing/scam/malware thing..?

How often do you update your devices’ software?
