@pjacock @naturepoker looking at the datasets download command, it doesn't quite do what I wrote ncbi-genome-download for, it's nicely complementary to it, though.

@pjacock @naturepoker ncbi-genome-download doesn't use the entrez API. It downloads directly from the FTP/HTTP directory.
Having said that, ncbi-acc-download uses the entrez API, and for all I can see doesn't have corresponding functionality in the datasets tool. So I sure hope they keep the API around.

@mimrma social media für Wissenschaftskommunikation ist schwieriger geworden, ich hab langsam keine Ahnung mehr was ich wo posten sollte. Ich glaube viele werden weiterhin auf mehreren Platformen aktiv sein.

@pjf I blame maths courses for warping the definition of trivial. The amount of "The proof is trivial and thus your homework" I got for things that were barely even possible certainly shifted my perception of trivial as a student.

@dplattsf I'm so sick of reading methods like that. It's the bioinformatics equivalent to "we performed the experiments by moving a bunch of liquids around using in house micropipettes".

@kblin no. and I have to admit I nearly nerdsniped myself thinking it would be fun to write the clever version but I have a deadline :( and it would be wrong at some point. I’m sure it’s just 3 lines of #fsharp. C’mon folks, let’s sunday code golf this! roman numerals to arabic in the least characters ?
