You can think of this server acc(infosec.exchange) as my main Tech/InfoSec related one , while you will find me on other servers, do so at your own risk, you have been warned. also they may not stay as much "on topic" as this one.

although me managing keeping this on topic all the time is unliklely..but a least more likely.

@tbortels i think some of the reason is due to it not being a CRT screen as old games was designed for such and thus look blurry/lower quality on LED/OLED screens

@ovadex yeah, i found that out, but i think i prefer just running dokuwiki on my existing macmini which i will install other stuff such as MariaDB, Apache, PHP, etc on which is helpful for other stuff i want.

i do have old samsung laptop with a lot more memory possible then macmini and i7 which i also have and initially was using for nas stuff before i switched to macmini. so i may consider putting truenas on that instead and use it for VM, apps and for secondary storage

...my biggest issue atm tbh is that i need empty drives and i am all out of such and a broke as F

decided to check out the possibility of running truenas on my macmini for NAS stuff as i currently just use debian with samba on it.

wanted to look into see if it was possible to add dokuwiki on same server as well, but sadly, you can't add existing disk with content on it to truenas and you can't add more disks to existing pool.

nor can i add something else to the system that truenas is on either such as dokuwiki, so guess that is a non-bueno for either. guess i will just stick with samba on a debian install and install dokuwiki on top of it

@harshad great video, like all of his usually is

@AlicornSkyler tbh, i feel the cases have been a lot higher for covid up to this point then people likely want to know but you can't report on cases if you never test for them, so only severe enough cases get attention and even then, it's treated like the flu and people move on.

if the new mutation is bad enough and rapid enough, i can easily see we get dragged down the deep end again before people realise how bad it is and start testing more with many places likely not going to do so as if you don't test you can ignore it for little longer

@AlicornSkyler my old number which i use in my old phone as a backup get like a bunch of call from foreign countries. which i have taken care of by enabling DnD mode, turn all sound/vibration off and left it in the office corner until i check it when i go to bed or get up.

generally i don't answer phones unless from my contacts, someone who calls multiple times in a row or send a sms first to let me know they will be calling

@Hobs everytime i see someone yelling about antifa being bad or something i am like "you know, you just told everyone you are a facist, which are seen by most people as a bad thing, why would you go to such great lenght telling everyone you are against being a decent human being and instead are for everything that is bad?
@jiaming well, yes, as it will interfere with the quality of the image and i don't know about x-ray specially, but some contains metal microfibers which are used to help prevent shrinking which may result in skin burns caused during the imaging scan when doing MRI, etc and may also have a negative affect on x-ray as well

Stop using Brave Browser.

Seriously.

If someone recommends Brave to you, you should ignore them, because they are wrong. Brave Browser is a mess of a software project, and the company building it is even worse.

Stop using Brave Browser

@trysdyn in many cases, just getting couple less bigger one but a lot cheaper and raid them up is better ROI then whatever speed and price for one big one does imo
