Greetings hivemind - any genuinely cool things to do in #Paris over the next few days? Thinking mostly of exhibitions or walking tours, maybe also thrift shops and bars.
I'm excited for some city life after a week and a half hiking around Switzerland. I am so so sure there are some amazing things to do for a couple days.
If I start laughing I may never stop. My friend is in the bathroom (thank God) because I could not keep a straight face with her there. How is this happening again.
The host is right there and if I laugh I will have to tell her the whole story 💀💀 too dangerous! The snow and the swimsuits she will think we're destroying her room up there!
Finally I get to the bathroom and I tell my friend and we just laugh and laugh and laugh.
Day #2, Part #2
Later on that night we go downstairs to brush our teeth in the bathroom.
The host is sitting there on a laptop.
I go quickly to the kitchen to fill my water bottle. I fill it and turn back to the bathroom. Uh oh. Turned too fast. Bottle is too full. There's water all over the floor.
I grab some paper towel and start mopping. How is this happening again. I am an expert at cleaning spilled water in this house by now.
I'm dying holding back my laughter.
Back upstairs after dinner and I hear a familiar sound.
"Mate there is water"
The swimsuits have dripped water all over the floor. The floor is slanted so it's spread across half the room.
I grab the same towel and we are just laughing. How did this happen again?
Day #2, we go to a pool with hot springs in the afternoon. When we get home the host is sharing pizzas with her daughter and she offers us some.
I quickly hang the swimming gear and come back down for pizzas. They are delightful. Homemade dough. Lots of local ingredients. So fun.
Her daughter is sweet - but she speaks only french and no German so we have some beautiful broken multilingual chats. Very sweet.
Ok. Enough walking. It's time for dinner.
We get back after less than two hours.
I turn on the cooker and my friend rushes downstairs "mate there is water. on the floor" *blank stare* "a lot of water".
I run upstairs. The snow from the roof has melted and made a puddle on the floor. She's freaking. I get a towel from my bag and start mopping.
I mean, it's not so much, but the drama!
