Our #fiddlercraboftheweek is the Spined Fiddler Crab, Tubuca paradussumieri, found from China to eastern Thailand, Taiwan, and western Indonesia.
A large #fiddlercrab, ~2.5-3.5 cm wide, males have a relatively longer claw than most other species. A brilliant blue when young, adults tend to be more dull colored. This species is frequently confused with conspecifics and similar species from neighboring regions.

A tad late for #InverteFest, but I submitted a set of my arthropod Lego designs to @LEGOIdeas!
My set idea "Arthropod Model Organisms" features models for a fruit fly, amphipod crustacean, red flour beetle, and two-spotted cricket.

Our new @theconversationau article covering our #ScienceAdvances paper just out:
#biodiversity #extinctions #coextinctions #cop15 #cop15montreal #climatechange #climateemergency
New research finds nearly 30% of land animals could disappear form their local area by 2100 due to climate change and habitat destruction. This is more than double previous predictions.
