Rendering Plotly outputs in a Jupyter notebook makes for some truly zany GitHub diffs
it would be nice if you would avoid restructuring your downloads database multiple times a year, but thank you for returning an HTML file with the new URL at least
biological databases keep their data in the same place over time challenge (impossible)

Is comp bio πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» actually witchcraft πŸ§™?
Consider:

πŸ§™ toiling over arcane spells incomprehensible to common folk
πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» (writing software/code) βœ…

πŸ§™ testing magic with other arcanists
πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» (code review) βœ…

πŸ§™ trying to comprehend esoteric and ancient forces
πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» (studying evolution) βœ…

after months of research, I’m really excited to announce that there are no natural sources of serotonin better than having a cute and cuddly kitty-cat sleeping in your lap
putting this out into the world to make sure I actually write, and also to remind people that it’s ok to be bad at things you love! you can’t get better if you stop trying

in my last year of college, a classmate I respected told me my writing was juvenile and terrible.

embarrassed to say that this 1 moment sent me into a writers block for 8 yrs, but in 2023 I’m going to try to break it by accepting that my writing IS terrible and going for it anyway

I think that AI art will go the way of Clipart - eventually people will come to see it as chintzy and low-effort

You can certainly hallucinate something with the β€œvibes” of real art, but it often lacks the detail, uniqueness, and consistency of human-made art

I’ve recently been seeing AI art on the cover of scientific journals, and it’s not a good look, figuratively or literally. Do you really want your work commemorated by an artefact-ridden mess of stolen ideas?

It took some time, but I ordered the pieces for my previous fly and amphipod designs and tried to build them. It took a few revisions, but the new designs are more stable and mostly use commonly-available Lego elements.
