If your day can be ruined by a queer wearing the clothes that they like

You deserve to have your day ruined

Saw some asshole griping about people promoting for sale things they make here on Mastodon.

So I blocked his stupid ass instead.

Look. Some folks lost their ENTIRE LIVELIHOOD when Twitter went tits up.

Save the arguments about building on other people's platforms for another time. Because for many, this is immediate, desperate, and is the difference between eating this week or not.

Don't be a dick.

Why oh why isnโ€™t Elie Mystal on mastodon. I miss him from Twitter.
"The owner of the @x Twitter handle confirmed that the company, now known as X, took over his account without warning or financial compensation, telling him the handle is a property of X." https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/26/twitter-now-x-took-over-the-x-handle-without-warning-or-compensating-its-owner/
TechCrunch is part of the Yahoo family of brands

The reason Mastodon is better than Twitter is everybody who is funny on Twitter is doing it to build a brand and socially climb and everybody who is funny on Mastodon is doing it because they are deeply mentally ill

I hate fireworks. Why?
1. Loud and bright, so they are highly triggering for migraines.
2. Highly triggering for PTSD and trauma.
3. Harmful to animals. (The smoke plus noise upsets animals).
4. People get obscenely obnoxious about them to the point of absurdity.

We don't need loud gun-shot noises that light up the night sky and harass everyone around.

Call me a fun-ruiner I guess, but people's and pet's health ought to matter more than big-boom-in-sky. :/

A little piece inspired from my trip to Scotland, the forests felt positively primordial!

Hey folks, a gentle reminder to offer some kindness right now as appropriate.

I know folks are getting their laughs in with #twitterdown and the migration here and elsewhere happening extremely quickly once more. Just remember...

A ton of people are watching the communities they built crumble. Job stability for many people, particularly sex workers, artists, and other creatives are in extreme jeopardy. Some people who need crowdfunding to live are currently terrified of what happens next.

There are valid reasons to hate #twitter but remember to not be mean to people sad about its demise. There is an appropriate way to balance our reactions to this news.
