It's funny, I don't even mind if big companies come to Mastodon. Let them.

The difference is over here, they can't buy their way into our timelines. They have to make their accounts attractive enough to us that we'll follow them and be willing to @-them when asking for support, etc.

And if they start acting badly, we can defederate their instances (let's face it, big corps are going to want to run their own instances if this takes off.) This will put, say, Microsoft, on the same footing as any other Mastodon user. They have to contribute something valuable, or we'll shut them out as a community.

I'm good with that.
