Tried to shitpost and got carried away lol

Gen AI found the biz model.
step 1: subsidize code generation so everyone forgets how to read/write code manually
step 2: many shops fire software dev and IT folks who know how to write code to save money
step 3: now charge 10x to 50x to ensure the AI generated code by that most humans largely can't understand actually works and cause outages
step 4: announce new code fix service that even cost more to fix AI mess
this is like donuts & weight loss/dietitian biz working out of same office
This is the funniest Steam Deck accessory I’ve ever seen!
Don’t get me wrong. I understand why this keyboard/stand exists. It has a practical function.
But imagine sitting down at Starbucks. The room is full of normal laptops. Clean lines. Thin aluminum. Civilized.
You unzip a case that looks like it contains military hardware. Out comes a handheld gaming console.
Then a keyboard.
Then a clamp.
You assemble it in stages like you’re preparing to launch a small satellite.
Click. Lock. Adjust angle. Tighten mount.
The joysticks loom over your Word document like twin anti-aircraft turrets. The ABXY buttons shimmer with the promise of violence.
You begin typing your gentle coming-of-age novel.
Every paragraph is written beneath a D-pad.
Someone glances over, expecting Elden Ring. Instead they see you carefully crafting a metaphor about autumn leaves.
You nod solemnly and continue Chapter 3.
When the barista calls your name, you detach the entire contraption in reverse order like a NASA rollback procedure.
You pack away the clamp. You holster the console. You slide the keyboard into its sheath.
You leave behind only confusion.
No one knows if you were coding, gaming, or coordinating a drone strike.
You were writing poetry.

This tracks with my personal experience in my previous job.
Rapid deskilling when they started using llm "prompt engineering" for the code they pushed.
Within weeks they basically had stopped being able to explain what they were pushing during code review.
Roughly a month ago I've upgraded my VR headset from Index to Bigscreen Beyond 2e. I am very happy with it — now I can spend longer without feeling the weight of my headset and the high resolution makes watching videos in VR actually enjoyable. But I admit it is an incredibly niche device intended for users who already have base station setup and for whom the weight is a major comfort factor. And it is not without drawbacks: there is a glare that is noticeable when you look at a large bright object in a total darkness and the ratio of faulty devices seems to be higher than the Index's, I myself had to request a replacement cable because my current one causes USB disconnects from time to time.
If it turns out to still be profitable for Bigscreen, I hope it inspires other companies to produce niche VR devices.
