I am a 74 year-old, retired biologist. I am a firm believer that our freedoms must be protected for all people regardless of race, color, religion, country of origin, sexual orientation, political beliefs, disabilities, environmental leanings, views on reproductive rights and any other categories that might be a basis for discrimination. We are all in this world together and must work together to make this world the best we can for everyone.

This is the beautiful moment, where Victor Orbán of Hungary and Robert Fico of Slovakia FINALLY reached the find out phase.

EU has stopped purchasing Russian oil, but Orban and Fico kept buying, while in the EU, these two leaders voted against helping Ukraine.

But now Ukraine has bombed the pumping stations used to supply Hungary and Slovakia. And so Orban and Fico are screaming for other EU leaders to help them get Ukraine to stop.

But no one listens. You made your bed. Now lie in it.

There are a lot fewer reply-guys whining about people suggesting that the nice people should GTF out to somewhere safe, or finish off the Civil War, today. I wonder if some are starting to get properly worried yet?

Mind you, I mostly just get told that as a non-USAian I'm not entitled to an opinion.

We're going to need journalists to stop talking about synthetic text extruding machines as if they have *thoughts* or *stances* that they are *trying* to *communicate*. ChatGPT can't *admit* anything, nor *self-report*. Gah.

One thing that the current exorbitant investments in "AI" show is that the investor class and big tech corporations do not pay enough taxes: If you have billions to set on fire for spicy autocomplete we should take some or all of those to do something useful with.
The stories we tell matter. I know this not from watching but from memory. I was just a child, held behind barbed wire in a U.S. internment camp, when an atomic bomb obliterated Hiroshima—killing members of my family. That horror etched itself into my life and forged my belief in the urgency of disarmament. I’ve heard this horror reflected over and over again in the stories of other hibakusha—survivors of these unimaginable attacks.

Well here's a weird one...

Key sections from the U.S. Constitution have gone missing from the U.S. government's official website, including sections 8 through 10, which include legal provisions like habeas corpus (aka due process). The White House hasn't commented.

Key sections of the US Constitution deleted from government's website | TechCrunch

Internet sleuths say the U.S. Constitution's website is now missing key sections from its website, including a key legal provision relating to habeas corpus, which protects citizens from unlawful detention.

TechCrunch

Article 1, Section 9 and 10 have been removed from the official government website on the US Constitution. This better be some kind of joke.

Among numerous points:
•Section 9 forbids suspending The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus
•Section 10 forbids ex post facto laws

Removing these two would absolutely mean full blown dictatorship. Genuinely hoping this is some sort of prank or joke, but you never know with this fascist regime.

Welcome to the out club.

Did I miss something? I understand that recently it was the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Post Office. Was there no parade? The American people have been served well by the U.S. Post Office through periods of Peace and War.

Maybe it is just that it is no one "special's" birthday, or perhaps it's because the ultimate plan for the U.S. Post Office by this administration is to destroy it by privatization for the sake of trump's cronies?

Please support the P. O.

Peace

Massive support for Miriam Margolyes as pro-Israel lobby tries to cancel her

As the Zionist lobby comes for Miriam Margolyes, it exposes itself as the cynical, colonialist operation it really is. Disgraceful.
