So before cell phones, did we just talk to random strangers sitting next to us on the plane?

Anyone know of a dataset that looks at high school sports injuries?

What actually happens when you add a covariate to a regression model? What does it mean to "control for" or "adjust for" a variable? What is the difference between a model with two main effects and a model with a two-way interaction?
A deeper understanding of these questions can make advanced regression concepts much more accessible. Check out my tutorial using a silly dog-related example:

Sara Emily Burke | Main Effects vs. Interaction

This tutorial explains the gist of main effects as opposed to interactions in linear regression models with binary predictors.

When I first started using #R, I couldn’t find a good way to create nicely formatted correlation tables. Wish I would have known about this site. #Rstats

2.1 Correlation matrices You may be familiar with the concept of a correlation matrix from reading papers in psychology. Correlation matrices are a common way of summarizing relationships between...

A research team tested the reliability of the dot-probe task across 36 versions in 9,000 people.

“Conclusions: The emotional dot probe task is not an adequately reliable measure of individual differences in attentional bias to threat. We identified no parameters that produced attentional bias scores that had adequate reliability to justify inclusion in research studies that seek to quantify differences between people, including individuals with elevated anxiety.”

Nature published 12 pieces in 2022 on the benefits of psychedelic drugs e.g. for mental health. All pieces were paid for by a pharmaceutical company specialized on psychedelic drugs.

Although Nature stresses all pieces were "editorially independent", in a letter published today we criticize the nature and content of the series.
