@yomimono Thanks! I wasn't sure how it was going to be initially, but the colours are showing up really pretty when spun!
My current spinning project. The initial braid was very random in where the colours were placed so I didn't do much to it. I thought it might look nice as a three ply so I just sectioned it into three pieces. #HandSpinning #FibreArt #FiberArt

I’m genuinely baffled by people who say that they aren’t getting traction on Mastodon, but they also just drop links to whatever they’re trying to promote and peace out.

Would YOU follow that person and engage with their stuff? I wouldn’t.

@skrishna
Or people who exclusively cross-post using a bot.

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm supposed to interact with the posts you couldn't bother to write out and will never check the responses to?

@skrishna I think a lot of people are thinking of Mastodon as "the replacement for Twitter because Elon broke it" when really it's "the replacement for Twitter because Twitter has always been kinda bad". They expect it to function exactly like Twitter, and perceive differences as faults, whereas those of us who joined years ago perceive those same differences as *the entre reason the fediverse exists*. I kinda get it, but at the same time, if you want something exactly like Twitter, use Twitter.
Anyone need to plan a trip in the ancient Roman Empire? https://omnesviae.org/en/#
OmnesViae: Roman Route Planner- Tabula Peutingeriana and Itinerarium Antonini

OmnesViae: Tabula Peutingeriana - Itinerarium Romanum. A route planner with all main roads and cities of the Roman Empire, based on the Tabula Peutingeriana and the Itinerarium Antonini.

@TarkabarkaHolgy Definitely this!

Unpopular opinion:

If the Addams Family is supposed to turn American family stereotypes upside down, then #Wednesday Addams should not have been a stereotypical brooding rebelling teenager who "hates her parents".

She should have been the one gothy teen who matter-of-factly admits her parents are awesome and she is not ashamed of them.

It would have been refreshing to see.

@kyle Very interesting. I'll have to check it out myself. I hadn't heard that about the spinning before. For me, Plutarch's Lives and Sabine women always remind me of the movie 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers'. Anyone else?
