Twitter just died, didn’t it.
There’s nothing that screams “free speech” like limiting the amount of posts people can view.
I am 100% not shitting you when I say scientists named mastodons after their teeth which they thought looked like nipples. “Mastos” as in breast. “odont” as in tooth.
We’re on a website that, in Greek, literally means “Booby Tooth.”

Keep this in mind as you prepare your client rosters for 2023:

A FREELANCER was once a warrior and assassin who was sworn to no lord or regency, but had a specific set of skills and *killer* instinct.

They were mercenaries who were FREE to work, and showed up with a LANCE.

From a purely business point of view (too), the ongoing destruction of value at Twitter is just mindblowing
Calling all UK-based early career woman scientists! Please apply for the L’Oréal For Women in Science Fellowship. The deadline is 02/12, the application is super short (500 words!!) and the £15k is flexible. Happy to help talk through your proposal/ personal statement. Please email me! https://www.forwomeninscience.com/challenge/show/58 #WomenInSTEM #ChemToots #ChemMastodon #ScienceMastodon

Hi Mastodon, I’m looking to connect with and follow experts on #womens #health, as I’m building a medical devices business to help women’s pain management, starting with period pain.
Suggestions are welcome and follows so I can follow back. Many thanks!

I've made a deliberate choice against a quoting feature because it inevitably adds toxicity to people's behaviours. You are tempted to quote when you should be replying, and so you speak at your audience instead of with the person you are talking to. It becomes performative. Even when doing it for "good" like ridiculing awful comments, you are giving awful comments more eyeballs that way. No quote toots. Thank's

These skills will serve you just as well later, once things calmed down, as you’ll be better equipped to adapt to and manage change when you choose to.

I’ll be sharing tips, tricks, and frameworks and help you develop your own to manage with confidence in uncertain times at my next course starting 21 November until 30 November. With a total time commitment of 6-10 hours (online, live and asynch, up to you), you’ll be well equipped to deal with any uncertain situation.

It pays to be intentional about your approach in ambiguous times. Knowing which part of the business you must keep an eye on and which parts you need to get into better shape asap is an integral part of that. Knowing what to expect when you don’t know what to expect is half the battle.

The other piece of good news is that if you’ve done this once, you’ll have a valuable skillset you can always rely on.
