I come from a religious background, so let me explain something to those of you who might not have had a similar childhood. See, it's about to come to light that the Epstein list does exist, that it isn't a hoax, that Trump's name is on it, that he was one of the main coconspirators in Epstein/Maxwell's sex trafficking for minors and blackmail scheme, and that both he and Bondi knew about this for months at a minimum.

And when that happens, you're going to see some new messaging in conservative circles. And here is what you will hear:

👉🏻"God can use anyone to complete his good work, even a sinner."

And if you don't have my kind of religious background, what you might not know about this is...

👉🏻 It's a lie. Let me explain.

What they're *trying* (and failing miserably) to reference is the Biblical story of Saul. The cliffs notes version of which goes like this: Saul was a Pharisee and a sinner - a liar, a cheat, and a tax collector who actively persecuted early Christians. One day on the road to Damascus, he encountered a bright light and the voice of God spoke to him, commanding him to repent his wickedness. Following this, he took the name Paul and became one of the most devoted disciples of Jesus dedicating his life to spreading the gospel.

Some Christians like to point to this and say "See? See? God can use even the worst sinner." But they're missing the whole point of the story.

The most important part isn't the part where Saul, the sinner, ended up doing great good works. The most important part was Saul's *repentance* and the following transformation that he made in his life. It wasn't Saul the sinner, the torturer, the conman, following Jesus and doing good deeds. That person repented his evil deeds. He fell on his face in the dirt before God almighty and admitted his wrongdoing. The person that arose AFTER that event was changed by that act of repentance. He was so fundamentally a different person that he took a whole new name! THAT is the man who God used to do good deeds.

And I'll go one step further. Anyone claiming that Jesus Christ used the wicked, evil heart of Saul to do good deeds in God's name is - hear me now - committing blasphemy. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is a sin described in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, as well as numerous other places and is described as attributing the works of God to Satan or vice versa. And it is the ONLY sin explicitly listed biblically as unforgivable.

“Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”
Matthew 12:31-32:

“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin” – for they were saying, ‘He has an unclean spirit.’”
Mark 3:28-30:

“And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”
Luke 12:10

So when (not if, when) you hear this from conservative voices, when they tell you that Trump the habitual conman, the serial rapist, the unrepentant bigot, the gleeful torturer, when they say that THAT Trump is being used by the Holy Spirit, make sure you remind them that they just committed blasphemy, an unforgivable sin, and according to their scripture, their eternal soul is now 100% damned to hell.
