Digital forensics professor & all-around good geek. I ramble on about DFIR and infosec nonsense. Views are not that of my employer, but then again they may very well be.

I will be doing a lunchtime discussion on digital forensics for the New Jersey Association of Forensic Scientists (NJAFS) next Wednesday, December 7th, @ 12:00 PM EST. If you are involved in digital forensics in Jersey, join the group and come and join the discussion next Wednesday. More details and registration info on the site: https://www.njafs.org/

Recently I published a primer article for digital forensics examiners on the Validation of forensic tools, software, and methods in Wiley's Interdisciplinary Review (WIRE's) Forensic Science Journal. This primer dives into how to draft a validation plan, construct/acquire datasets, in addition to the legal foundations of proper validations. There's also some pretty helpful links and resources included as well!!

Give it a read for free!! http://doi.org/10.1002/wfs2.1474
