I have been working with Web technologies since 1992. I have co-founded two browser companies, Opera Software and Vivaldi Technologies. I was CEO at Opera and I am CEO at Vivaldi.

I am a strong proponent of open standards. I believe in building feature rich products that can be adapted to the needs of users without collecting information about usage. I believe no company has the right to profile their users.

From the @vivaldibrowser trip to Þórsmörk in Iceland. To get there we had to cross some rivers on the way. It was worth it.

I am sure we can figure something out. I was trying to think if it would be possible to do this through a command chain.

@rigo , I would have loved to be able to use Presto, but that ship has sailed.

We have to use the core we have and it is not a bad one.

In practice we can do so much on top of it that it is a different beast altogether. It is kind of like cars sharing the same engine. They can be very different in every other way. We provide the level of control you will never find in other browsers and the level of functionality and in many ways we just got started.

@nikkiana , well fediverse is a shortening of the Federated Universe, as far as I know. For me Federated Universe is kind of more Star Wars like, which for me is not a bad thing.

Feel free to suggest that as a feature in our forums. I am sure we can do that.

With respect to the sync server, we have thought of that as well. Not trivial to do, but it is on our list of things we would like to do.

Is it just me that prefers Federated Universe to Fediverse? I understand it is more of a mouthful, but I think the jargon gets in the way a bit.
