@peteralee yep you’ve either a majority or not. A slim one may stop you getting stuff through when there’s internal rankling but the tories have been boasting about there massive majority these last few years not saying well we shouldn’t really have all this power, better hand these seats back (though they have been doing unintentionally by being shits)
@SmudgeTheInsultCat @jamesholden isn’t this so so very true. Also I’ve found if you fix every problem the car comes up with a bigger much more expensive problem, so generally I leave a small inconsequential issue because then you know what’s up with it, but it’s a cheap fix
@craiggrannell usually why I say to people buy the brightly coloured 2.5” drives, because they stand out better in the bottom of your sock drawer, assuming of course you buy a different colour to your socks…

@CiscoJunkie @homegrown yep used to be part of the day job. The moment I could offload it to someone else’s problem was a good thing. Even my personal stuff I just pay Google workspace, it’s £50 a year for just works thank you very much
@CiscoJunkie @homegrown you end up needing backup mx services, and if there’s any issues with own server you’re fire fighting it, and usually at weekends/holidays cos it never fails on a quiet Tuesday. At worst use the email bundled with hosting, but prefer to use separate so don’t need to shift email when shifting hosting. Long long time made it someone else’s problem basically as everyone expects it to work 24/7
@ianRobinson @jonbradbury it’s probably I’ve just been a bit quiet on here of late
@mattsheffield @ianRobinson rarely used them since twitter took off I think (I was paying annual subs for a server access before then) but MacSoup no longer working after one of the Mac updates was the final nail for me a year or two ago as wasn’t worth any investment finding a replacement, and those I did try weren’t macsoup
@CrackedWindscreen @kentindell I’m sure somewhere someone’s saying this saves 1,000,000 hours in garage time, but I’m assuming along the way based on when software updates **** up this will be at the expense of a handful of people losing more time than this as cars left stranded thanks to a corrupted update. These should be workshop jobs only as part of a service.
