Curious about everything under the sun, behind the sun, and inside the sun. Rock turner until I’m dead. I also software quite a bit. C# / F# / Flutter / Rust and many others. I like taking things apart and trying to put them back together. I grow things, I bake things, photograph things, and pet all the animals.
Papa bear and momma bear paid us a visit today.
The blue frog again makes an appearance
I just saw a chipmunk chasing a robin around the yard. The robin never flew away but instead just ran around darting from side to side while juking the chipmunk.
I saw a "don't tread on me" bumper sticker on the back of a car and someone put a "no one is treading on you sweetie" bumper sticker right next to it. I wondered how long it had been there and if the driver ever noticed.
So I can check this off the list: Looked out of the window and saw a bear just casually walking around
Sitting out on the porch this morning and listening to at least fifteen different birds. My favorites are the Carolina wrens, northern flickers, and red bellied woodpeckers.
Just saw a little eastern newt swimming around in the pond and it looked so carefree and happy
This prescription will cost you $1000, but if you use this coupon it's only $10.

@futurebird so this hummer photo has been doing the rounds on bsky and I've been holding my post button thinking, "Surely a few people will already send this. She's always inundated with multiple copies of the same things." but as far as I can see, it hasn't happened yet? Anyway, without further ado: https://bsky.app/profile/phylogenomics.bsky.social/post/3mhj2jp7xpc27

Link might not work if you don't have a bsky account so I uploaded the image.

I just want to note how plump that lil ant's gaster is, and I have to wonder if she's getting a little sippa from the beak as the hummingbird feeds.

Dear everybody who is using Firefox: update to 148 and toggle the AI kill switch ASAP. It takes 5 clicks. Here's a visual guide.

You can still opt-in to individual options. I won't, but there are two accessibility options you might want to opt back into. That's depicted in the 4th image.

I added alt text for the visual guide, but I'm not sure how useful or well-written it is. Feedback welcome.
