KDE Connect, a project to communicate across all your devices on Linux desktop, gets Bluetooth support!

For example, with KDE Connect you can receive your phone notifications on your desktop computer, control music playing on your desktop from your phone, or use your phone as a remote control for your desktop.

KDE Connect: more album art & bluetooth coming soon - Matthijs Tijink

So I thought my timeline just wasn't working right. It turns out quite a few of the people I follow essentially disappeared from #Mastodon. Maybe the initial novelty wore off for them. #Diaspora on the other hand got a bit of a boost from the whole #DeleteFacebook thing. I like both for different reasons...I do need to post more often though.
@atomjack if only that were the case now...
@JonYoder Thanks for the input. Any particular reason? Just the general time investment it takes to listen to a single album-length piece?
#Opinion #poll: For anyone into #ambient or #drone #music, do you prefer #longform pieces (45+ minutes) or albums of shorter tracks? (Trying to decide what direction to take the next album for my project of 18 years.)
@Rock I suspect it's for much the same reason that people stay on FB: "Everyone I know uses it."
Really liking what I'm seeing with #Kubuntu 18.04 Beta 2. I tried the minimal install option on an old 32bit laptop. With the exception of some lag in Discover, the performance is pretty good. I'm looking forward to this running this on my newer systems. LTS Plasma + LTS Qt + LTS Ubuntu = ❤️
I'm looking to put together a local #community program for (primarily) non-technical people. Things like teaching people how to use #opensource software at educational events, having #Linux installation parties, accepting old hardware to repurpose and donate, etc. Does anyone with experience doing such things have any advice on getting started?
@JonYoder That's an awesome project and is definitely in line with something I would like to do. How have things gone so far?
...This *IS* why windows does that :x
