Google banned my personal account for "suspicious activity that violated our polices" Of course, having done nothing wrong, I appealed this and explained in the form that there must have been a mistake. I just got word saying my account access cant be restored. Anyone know of a way to get it back, ? I rely on this account for much of what I do every day, and so this is devastating news. Any help would be much appreciated! #google
What if apps stealing from apps is the only way we get privacy legislation? My guess is this will become more of a thing until we do.
Truth.

Ooh, THIS is clever. I'm in for anything that both saves energy and keeps public swimming pools open.

ā€œWe built a small data centre in Exmouth leisure centre. Most normal data centres waste the heat that the computers generate. We capture ours and we give it for free to the swimming pool to heat the pool,ā€ https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/mar/14/innovative-heat-tech-save-england-swimming-pools-from-closure #Swimming #heat #climate #Sport

Doing a tear down of my vintage IBM KB-7593 to determine if I’m going to be able to fit a Bluetooth adapter and small power bank inside. Will keep you all posted.#diy

ā€œThe reason most public transportation is seen as ā€˜losing’ money is precisely because it charges for trips. If you don't charge fares, suddenly it can't ā€˜lose’ money. It just costs money, the same as the roads.ā€

This random comment has given me my new favourite argument for removing fares from public transit.

Things that you were taught as a child that don’t actually exist:
- the invisible hand of the market’s ability to provide for the common good outside a regulatory framework
- the widespread availability of blue collar jobs that can support a one-income household
- Canada
- housing that is affordable on middle class wages
- Gen X
- the ability of the free market to overcome racial inequality that has been perpetuated over generations
ABSOLUTELY!

BOSS: I need you to put these coupon stickers on all the Pick Me Up boxes

EMPLOYEE: Do you care where we place those stickers?

BOSS: Yeah, *on the box*. Don’t make me repeat myself. Idiots.

I'm tired of living like it's the 1600s:

Can I afford eggs at the market?
Are my family going to die of the plague?
Puritans are coming for my sinful lifestyle.

I want modern problems.
