Hey all - I recently joined Livemap, a Swiss startup based in Zürich. I am the sole "map guy" here now, and in need of a routing algorithm / engine specialist (significantly beyond "I deployed Valhalla and got it to work). Drop me a line if you can recommend someone (including yourself)! CH / EU preferred but not required.
First laser cutting in a long time, I think it came out ok! #weeknotes
@coldclimate I’ll admit it doesn’t feel like a much more advanced setup than when I self hosted but now it’s someone else’s job to do the upgrades!

Very glad to be able to read my battery status again, apparently it has been about 4 years!

@coldclimate I just switched to mythic beasts for my email hosting. Been fine so far but the set up is quite geeky, not sure if they are expecting to do that bit themselves or not. I mostly use IMAP though they have webmail too.

I've just published a reference for anyone using git while trans, explaining how to hide or remove your deadname in git repositories

So much khipu documentation is paywalled, copyrighted or otherwise owned (not often by Andean people, of course) so we've been doing some drawing for this workshop to explain how to make your own khipu.

All the workshop materials will be creative commons CC-BY.

To keep #OpenStreetMap.org up and running while we're being deluged by scrapers, we've blocked 320,000+ primarily residential IPv4 addresses in the last 24 hours (+ 100,000 IPv6) involved in scraping.

If you need OSM data, please don't scrape the website - use the official downloads at https://planet.openstreetmap.org
