AB 3048 would require Google to offer a setting in Chrome to support the Global Privacy Control signal. Google’s opposition to the most minor of privacy rules is telling and unfortunate. This should get more attention.

Feeling the widespread introduction of spatial computing raises privacy and content moderation questions that I cannot really grasp. Sometimes feels like people are so skeptical of the #metaverse that they dismiss what new spatial data means for how we interact with technology. I know plenty of privacy people who don’t even think this raises privacy issues!

Anyone else remember the Equifax settlement? And the FTC telling everyone to take the “free” credit monitoring? I had to freeze and unfreeze my accounts a bunch while applying for loans, which I righteously documented. And now, some 3.5 years later, I got my $8.73 pound of flesh.
Today the @StanfordCyber hosted a fantastic conference on #XR, #AR, and #VR and the law. Speaking for Meta Reality Labs, I talked about the creation of norms in the #metaverse.
