I work as an illustrator. I'm trying to be a writer. Will post about art, books, science fiction/fantasy type stuff.
@Meshelly The ability to order tacos is one of the first signs of sentience.
@boots but... but... but, that's why they are so great. You get that, right?
@WelshPixie well, if all instances come crashing down around our ears, we'll know who to blame. It was Del's fault. She did it.
@ajr sounds like you have some fan fiction to write.
@ajr what's scifi from 1902? HG Wells? Jules Verne? I don't think Lovecraft was publishing until the 20's or so. Maybe 30's. Ah, now, I see you're talking about movies. Yes, I've seen Trip to the Moon. Years ago.
@ajr @GEvans it's brand new and right now, you have to apply. I think eventually they'll open it up entirely but last I checked you had to apply. I'm not sure what the rates are, but I would suspect they'd be similar to Kindle publishing rates. The advantage would be that you'd have immediate access (once accepted) to Amazon's massive customer base. And, you're product would be for sale instead of feeling like you have to beg for support...if Patreon makes you feel that

@GEvans have you seen that Amazon recently opened up a subscription model for self-publishers? This would allow you to offer paid subscriptions via Amazon to people who read on Kindle or via the Kindle app. It might be something worth looking into if you're interested. Here's the link:

@flat very nice. Great work.

@howfar @DaveHiggins

We had no idea who or what Doctor Who was. We just stumbled onto the show, jumped in, and started watching. We were so confused when Tom Baker died and changed into a completely different man. Seriously. We walked around the house for weeks trying to figure that out. And this was pre-internet so unless you knew someone in real life, you were out of luck.

@DaveHiggins @howfar the problem was exacerbated by the fact that I was in America. Doctor Who became a thing here, but this was at the beginning, So, it was still new to most of us over here.
