Here’s a thought on the current heatwave that is absolutely destroying humankind across Europe atm: maybe we should push for a regulation to allow people — ALL people — to stop working in temperatures above 30C. The economy would collapse and finally politicians would take fighting the climate crisis as a priority, rather than leaning into the bullshit narrative that “summer is summer” from their air-conditioned ivory towers.
Random macOS Golden Gate thoughts:
- Looks and feels better than Tahoe, but still worse than Sequoia, and far worse than Catalina.
- I'm one of those people who highlight text as they're reading and the little Siri icon that appears (I assume to summarize?) annoys me to no end.
- M1 MBP went from instantly responsive on wake (on Sequoia) to needing 30 seconds or so before I can do anything.
- There's nothing new here I want.
@marioguzman I maintain a web application that customers install on their own servers. You wouldn't believe how much trouble random anti-virus or other security software we've never heard of has given us over the years.
Not that we dismiss them, we just jump immediately to "that's weird, what's different between my computer and yours?"
