@tim_parkinson Consider myself lucky that I had the day off when Crowdstrike "upgraded" their game from blowing up a few Rocky 9 hosts via botched kernel support to the entire Windows estate.

@fatrat Absolute madness. Makes a solid case that contracts for products like trains have terms for including the delivery of source code, SBOM and debugging APIs for any business critical / safety critical systems.

Sounds to me that this manufacturer needs to get clobbered by the law on this.

Although outraged as everyone by the career path Katalin #Karikó has had to take, I feel that the idea that early papers should have been in #Nature is in a way sticking to a known fallacy, an expectation that this system of supposed detection of impactful #research years in advance could work.

What we have is rather a proof that it doesn't and can't work, and that basing the hiring/tenure/grant decisions on these HI journal decisions is plain stupid.
