How do you all find people to follow on #Mastodon to build yourselves a positive community? I don't want another cesspool like Twitter, but I also want a timeline that is relevant, interesting, and perhaps even uplifting. I'm finding it hard to find "my people" on here. Any tips?
@_astronoMay I just want to a) say your cool-coloured mask is great and b) explicitly thank you for wearing one at your conference.
@BathysphereHat Some sharks do (I think tiger sharks are particularly well known for it). Orcas, too, occasionally.
@ItsMeChrisWade I have seen more than one total breakdown by a creator who was "working their dream job" in animation. It would be nice if people could a) have a creative career while b) earning enough money to live a tolerable life and c) not collapsing under the strain of even attempting both at the same time.
(I'm a writer, but have only worked in animation once – and I never got paid in the end.)
@ItsMeChrisWade We're not carnivores, but fresh produce is no better. Do you have apps or services in your area that can connect you with short-dated food for cheap (or somethin sometimes even free)?
