Man, eating healthy is... expensive?? Hard to stay full these days when youre a carnivore looking to control their cholesterol.
@ItsMeChrisWade ngl all my assumptions about health and weight etc in america pretty much evaporated the moment I found out how much vegetables and fruit vs fast food cost in some states.

@foervraengd Yeah its crazy. I understand why folks have such a hard time msintaining healthy habits.

When youre on a lower tax bracket, you gotts take whats cheapest.

@ItsMeChrisWade yeah. Its also my biggest critique for veganism. Being vegan on a low income in the states sounds like a life of grains and potatoes

@ItsMeChrisWade :,3 Oh no, yeah getting quality meat is expensive. I eat rather vegetarian now. But not sure, kinda need to figure out how I would need to eat in a way which is best for me. (I felt good on paleo and keto, but kinda can't imagine sticking to it long term. (I fear I'm a sugar junkie. :,3))

But yeah even veggies can be expensive. XD Was kinda shocked today, how much one eggplant was and I needed several ones.

@ItsMeChrisWade we eat lots of ground chicken. Here in Canada it's the most affordable form of meat and it's more versatile than you might think!
@i_is_sam We do ground chicken in our home a bunch and its delicious in chili!
@ItsMeChrisWade it is! Makes great taco bowls, burgers... All sorts. Now I'm hungry.

@ItsMeChrisWade I feel ya! Canned peas, dollar store flash frozen veggies/fruits, 20 lbs rice bags, and pickles are my ultimate combo for being a health nut on a budget.

The only pricey items on my list are chicken, tuna, and plant protein-infused oatmeals/powders/chickpea pastas to maintain my boxing physique. Protein rich foods keep inflating unfortunately, but you can always get more peas as a substitute

@ItsMeChrisWade We're not carnivores, but fresh produce is no better. Do you have apps or services in your area that can connect you with short-dated food for cheap (or somethin sometimes even free)?
