MrAlanCooperMastodon doesn't allow me to follow other people's conversations. Nor does it allow quote-tweeting. What were initially minor annoyances are slowly growing into deal breakers.

@jerrygulla I see that. But the "excesses of Twitter" were not in the code, but in the lack of adult supervision.
@mralancooper Exactly. Mastodon took a governance (i.e. “adult Supervision”) problem and tried to fix it in code.
@jerrygulla It's the old joke about looking for your lost keys under the streetlight because the light is better. Solving it in code is always cheaper, even if it can't be solved in code.
