With sunglasses on, earplugs stuffed in my ears, and my butt firmly planted in a nose-bleed seat, I thoroughly enjoyed my second-ever viewing of Nine Inch Nails. Trent & co. have a well-oiled set, lasting at most 1:45, getting me back home by 11 p.m.

Surrounded by Gen Xers, as well as plenty of younger folks, the nostalgia ran high for me, hearkening back to my high school and college days. When did we get so old? And yet, how does Trent sound exactly the same and maintain such energy?!

I’m not sure when it or how it evolved, but my handwriting is a now a print–cursive combo.

My printing and cursive are both subpar, so this hybrid approach is… subpar.

I’m of the age when it’s perfectly acceptable to be annoyed with younger folks who refuse to / don’t want to read something *before* asking for clarification, i.e., being spoon-fed said information.
REI return tags are the best. Maybe don’t buy an alpine fleece jacket if you don’t want the warmth. My guess it is was a woman who entered peri-/menopause. πŸ˜‚
I don’t know if I’ve tooted this before, and even if I have, it bears repeating: We have an unhealthy obsession with Guns N’ Roses in this household. By that I mean, if YouTube serves up a vid, we watch it. No questions asked. Usually, it’s to see how well (or not) Axl’s voice is holding up. Sometimes it’s out of pure nostalgia. But every time, it is unquestionably entertaining.
It’s the time of year when I can keep our back patio door open all day. Sure, I hear the standard city noise, but with a line of trees behind our building, I am entertained by birds. The occasional hawk, crows, sparrows, mourning doves, but most notably, hummingbirds. They are my spirit animal. I call them hummies or clickers, due to their specific chirp. Such curious creatures, they often buzz by the patio or float in place, just in front of our window. I’m never not mesmerized by them.
I think I’m getting closer to the raising chickens and chasing after goats stage of life. I already have a handle on sourdough and kombucha, so I think I’m ready.

I'm going to toot (heh) my own horn by saying how chuffed I am that my Suddenly Rose Shawl pattern received a shout-out in "Knitting," a UK magazine.

To celebrate, I'm offering 30% off the purchase of this pattern from my website with code KNITMAG30. Code expires 3/31/26, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

As a quitter of Lightroom due to its bulk and sluggishness, using @aphera is so refreshing. I use the minimal level of tools and spend a fraction of the time futzing to get wonderful results.

I may need to get a proper camera yet again.

Today's call with my 70-year-old mom:

1) I don't speak Spanish, but Bad Bunny's performance was very entertaining!

2) Explain to me what all these data centers are...
