@jamesthomson Just now watching this. I had that same thought when they showed CarPlay content: I’m trying to operate a vehicle and drive safely down the road, and now you’re adding a bunch of low contrast text? That’s going to be a nightmare.
I’ve always installed the beta one on my main device pretty quickly Knowing that’s probably a terrible idea. This year I’m wondering if I’m going to install the final release when it even comes out.
@caseyliss Healthcare co-op for my family cost us $4-5k last year and saved us about $10k in what would have been out of pocket expenses for procedures. Out of pocket doctor visits were less than $1k ($70-120 each visit.)
The amount they attempt to bill to insurance is almost always 3-5x higher than the cash pay price. Plus you have autonomy and freedom over your own healthcare.
I refuse to ever pay for insurance again. This is the way.

I first heard about this when Myke Hurley did it, which prompted this post: https://sixcolors.com/post/2022/07/touch-id-on-a-mac-desktop-deconstructed/
@timonus I just switched from external monitor + MacBook to a larger screen and clamshell, so lost my TouchID.
Bought a TouchID keyboard used on eBay for $50, pulled out the button and logic board, hack saw’d the button well so clicking still works, and hot glued it to the bottom of my desk. Works great!
(Only hot glued on tape, not directly to circuit boards, for easy removal)
There are 42 states where you can register to vote online, these are the ones where you can't:
Arkansas
Mississippi
Montana
New Hampshire
North Dakota
South Dakota
Texas
Wyoming
If you've seen websites suggesting that you can register online in those states, that is a voter suppression technique, specifically targeting younger voters who are much more likely to vote progressively. If you live in any of these states, make sure you can vote, it usually must be done by mail or in person.
@Alice Backing through the pull through, as if they parked normally from the other side? That’s not nemesis, that’s evil.
