@pabuisson I had Pocket in write-only mode because it was so difficult to search or sort articles.
With Pocket closing, I've moved to Raindrop.io. The transfer process was smooth but I really haven't used it much since.
The problem is, the web has changed and the way that I've used the web has changed since Pocket was made available. If I really want to save a page, I can export it as a pdf and use Spotlight to find it.
Mostly I put the links into an Apple Note.
@skerit @Pandamoanimum We replaced our ancient fridge with a newer, “Energy Star” fridge. It probably saves some energy but it has the same crappy thing plastic retainers which I fixed with packing tape.
Also, the retainers kept popping off so I ended up putting screws into them to keep them in place after the 3rd time we ended up with broken glass and beer or peaches or whatever on the floor.
@darren I was born in Oregon and didn’t pump my own gas until I was in my 20s. A lot of us have looked at it as supplying jobs for people who don’t have a lot of options.
Not a very good job, unfortunately.
I have this cat laying with me. He doesn’t care about my problems at work. He doesn’t care about Meta and the fediverse. He doesn’t care that Fedia.io’s database is a
He, for some reason, just wants to lay right here. Purring softly. Twitching now and then as he dreams. Apparently feeling safe.
He’s 17. I give him insulin injections twice a day and he has a shaved spot on his back with a glucose meter glued to his skin. Yet he still trusts me.
When I adopted him 17 years ago, he was a wreck. He peed on my couches, pooped on my bed. But he grew out of that.
He and I play games, even still today. i will act scared to see him and back away, and he will start chasing me.
He knows how to ask me for what he wants. I feel like I understand him sometimes.
I’m really am super lucky he put on a show when I was looking for a rescue to adopt all those years ago. He’s been an awesome cat.
