@pabuisson I had Pocket in write-only mode because it was so difficult to search or sort articles.

With Pocket closing, I've moved to Raindrop.io. The transfer process was smooth but I really haven't used it much since.

The problem is, the web has changed and the way that I've used the web has changed since Pocket was made available. If I really want to save a page, I can export it as a pdf and use Spotlight to find it.

Mostly I put the links into an Apple Note.

@Sundazed We only had 1 feeder out but no takers recently. I'm wondering if the hummers prefer real nectar and that there's plenty of that available now. Our heated feeder was popular in the winter but there probably weren't a lot of options then.
There's a local Vancouver, Washington mural artist whose work features Mayan styling and it's always great, but this one caught my eye this morning and I think it's particularly rad.

@skerit @Pandamoanimum We replaced our ancient fridge with a newer, “Energy Star” fridge. It probably saves some energy but it has the same crappy thing plastic retainers which I fixed with packing tape.

Also, the retainers kept popping off so I ended up putting screws into them to keep them in place after the 3rd time we ended up with broken glass and beer or peaches or whatever on the floor.

@darren I was born in Oregon and didn’t pump my own gas until I was in my 20s. A lot of us have looked at it as supplying jobs for people who don’t have a lot of options.

Not a very good job, unfortunately.

@darren The legislature passed a bill to let people pump their own gas but it’s sitting on the Governor’s desk. https://www.koin.com/news/oregon/koteks-office-sees-split-public-opinion-on-self-serve-gas-bill-as-deadline-looms/
@scott Different point of view: I wouldn’t mind going paperless if the banks and credit unions would email me a statement. Instead I get a notice that I’m supposed to log in and download the statement. I’m not worried about my bank bouncing a PDF file on its way to Apple or gmail but fine, encrypt it.
@mikemccaffrey Clint who does business as Just Plumbing. Heard about him from my fussy brother in law. I’ve used Clint twice and very happy. No email or website afaik and that’s just fine. +1 (503) 760-3577

I have this cat laying with me. He doesn’t care about my problems at work. He doesn’t care about Meta and the fediverse. He doesn’t care that Fedia.io’s database is a

He, for some reason, just wants to lay right here. Purring softly. Twitching now and then as he dreams. Apparently feeling safe.

He’s 17. I give him insulin injections twice a day and he has a shaved spot on his back with a glucose meter glued to his skin. Yet he still trusts me.

When I adopted him 17 years ago, he was a wreck. He peed on my couches, pooped on my bed. But he grew out of that.

He and I play games, even still today. i will act scared to see him and back away, and he will start chasing me.

He knows how to ask me for what he wants. I feel like I understand him sometimes.

I’m really am super lucky he put on a show when I was looking for a rescue to adopt all those years ago. He’s been an awesome cat.
