@mekkaokereke I don’t think bikes create empathy so much as cars erode it. Sealed in a pod, cut off from the surrounding environment, sensorially muted, and attention shifted. A sense of entitlement regarding road space. Not that drivers are evil, but poor city design post WWII bulldozed everything else for the car - rail, streetcars, main streets, the idea of the street as a shared space for everyone - they bristle if you mention this privilege.

@jasonstcyr I've trained my kid to turn it off/on and look for reset switches if any piece of tech isn't working. Backfires when he thinks something isn't downloading fast enough and he resets the home network with no advance warning. 😄

@wilreynolds to build on @bethmorgan , every one of those people was hired to work on, and believes they still are working on, a deliverable that aligns to larger goals. If their work isn't contributing, it's management's fault for not aligning projects to business outcomes. The phrasing is absolutely anti-worker because they've forgotten (or never knew?) what it takes to actually build what they're asking for.
