I've been in and out of information security professionally, but somehow always have related projects. Mainly working with zeek and network level detection at the moment. SDR, cycling, and climbing enthusiast.
I boost a lot. Topics range far and wide from security and "the cybers" and may include politics, food, humor, science, law, nature, art, and other sundry unsavories. I occasionally post my own projects and thoughts.

NEW: Spyware maker Paragon says its $2 million contract with ICE is still inactive and under review, meaning the company hasnāt provided its surveillance tech to the agency yet.
If the U.S. government approves the contract, Paragon will face the dilemma of continuing its relationship with an agency thatās very different today compared to when the contract was signed in 2024.

Regarding my question about keeping my copper phone lines or not, I just saw this which I'd missed before; AT&T has announced it intends to get rid of its copper networks by 2029, assuming regulators allow that. California might be an exception.

The Guardian: Federal agents use force during immigration raid at two California farms
"...Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents accompanied by national guard troops in military-style vehicles turned up at two locations operated by Glass House Farms, one in the Santa Barbara county town of Carpinteria, about 90 miles (145km) north-west of Los Angeles, and one in the Ventura county community of Camarillo, about 50 miles from LA...."

Almost-ready system traded for imaginary private sector efficiency pixies.
"The problem, according to private space industry representatives, is a line in a budget request document that mentions (page 300) plans to reduce funding for the Office of Space Commerce (OSC) in the next budget year, slashing its budget from $65 million to just $10 million. That $55M cut is accomplished by eliminating the Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS) program, and that doesn't leave the space industry feeling very confident in the state of orbital affairs."
