Microsoft discovered a vulnerability in macOS that can let attackers bypass application execution restrictions imposed by Apple's Gatekeeper security mechanism.

The bug, dubbed "Achilles," could be used by malware and other threats to gain initial access to a device and increase the success rate of attacks on macOS.

Apple addressed the bug in macOS 13 (Ventura), macOS 12.6.2 (Monterey), and macOS 1.7.2 (Big Sur).

This is absolutely surreal. One organization gave me a free Dell R220, I loaded an OS and my SSH keys on it, then shipped it to Miami to be imported into another country where another organization is giving me space, power, and 10 freaking Gbps of transit for this server that I get to help manage, also for free.

The homelabber who lamented to me about how their $300/mo colo bill was too much to sustain for their Linux mirror. Boy, you are really doing it wrong.

EdgeUno: Would you be willing to send one of your Micro Mirror appliances to Colombia?

Me: Well... dealing with customs seems like a lot of work, so I don't think so.

EdgeUno: What if you just ship it to Miami and we'll get it from there.

Me: Wait, what?

The #MicroMirror project has officially left the continent.

I attached my own DIN clips to the Mikrotik router which takes up way less surface area when mounted like this! I've got metal DIN clips on the way for the KiwiSDR and fitlet2 as well. I am having to switch from the 14" x 18" plastic enclosure to the 20" x 20" metal one though. I've just got too much stuff to fit in here.
Seriously, the fact that I can wake up this morning, decide that I want to read the original Cosmac Elf article in the August 1976 Popular Electronics and Internet Archive makes that possible in 2 minutes is the future we were promised and need to appreciate.

For no apparent reason, I made this alternative #Mastodon logo. I think it was created out of my burning conviction that logos should all be visual puns, and the more puns the better.

So here it is, the head is a speech bubble AND the body is an "M". Puneriffic!
