If you're wanting to post or read about current events on the Fediverse, there are three main ways:

- Groups, more info about them at https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse

- Full text searches, more info about them at https://fedi.tips/how-do-i-opt-into-or-out-of-full-text-search-on-mastodon

If you want your post to be as visible as possible, you can use all three methods by opting your account into full text searches, including hashtags in your post, and mentioning a group too.
