It's done! With what is likely the final update for 2025, #Bikerouter gets a long‑requested feature: you can now apply different routing options to individual route segments.
That makes it possible, for example, to explicitly include a road segment on a gravel route (or vice versa ;-)).
You can also briefly route a road‑bike tour planned with the "very little traffic" profile onto a street with higher vehicle traffic without having to place lots of individual waypoints to force the route onto the desired road.
The use cases seem very versatile – at least that's how I read the number of requests I received for this feature.
The feature is controlled via the waypoint list sidebar (map‑pin icon on the right edge of the screen).
For each waypoint, the “Adjust routing for this segment” link reveals the familiar dropdowns for routing profile and route alternative. Settings made here only affect the segment from that waypoint to the next waypoint in the route.
