You may have already seen the new Route Inspector in #Bikerouter. It lets you display information about the road surface directly on the route. I now use it every time I plan a route.

In “Debug” mode, it even shows all the tags available from #OpenStreetMap for route calculation – this can be a great help when developing new routing profiles.

(The “Debug” mode can be toggled in the settings section in the drop-down main menu)

It’s release day!

#Bikerouter  version 2026.13 is fresh off the press with the following updates:

added: The new “Route Inspector” allows showing detailed information about the route and its segments directly on the map. It can be activated via the new “Route Inspector” button (“info” icon) in the sidebar when a route is active (or via keyboard shortcut i).

added: Direction arrows on the route line

added: The current map view can be opened in JOSM via a link in the attribution line at the bottom right of the map. (👋 @mcliquid)

changed: Upgrade to new version of the routing engine BRouter 1.7.9

changed: Update the routing profiles from BRouter to the latest version.

changed: The detailed information in the elevation profile is now easier to access on touch devices when the elevation profile is not zoomed in. When zoom is active, it works as before when the “Lock” button (lock symbol) is enabled (@dbx maybe this improves things a bit for you already)

fixed: Lots of smaller bugs and glitches

Man merkt, dass die Saison in vollem Gange ist.

#Bikerouter wird in den nächsten Tagen einen weiteren dedizierten Server zur Routenberechnung bekommen – weil ihr so viel plant :-)

Ich müsste wohl auch mal wieder aufs Rad, statt meine Freizeit vor dem Rechner zu verbringen.
