Not to post: life logging, daily review, any of this periodical predictable and organizable things that don't require other's attention. Even random things that don't require better not be mixed with things that do. So post them only. Something like Lemmy is better for questions, sharing interesting stuff. Tag system even better, solves cases when Mastodon is better than Lemmy. Definitely not missing wisdom by not reading mastodon feed instead of book.

Often acting according to societal expectations is better than promoting unconventional kind of existentialism. Especially since that time it was first thing that came to mind, without thinking about implications. Better talk less, think more.

Just told grandmother that her influence is negligible for me going forward, that her happiness or suffering doesn't matter much to eir.
Will write where our main points of interest meet: loving-kindness for her for more of her pension and service
Will write for them about why I behave that way. Hopes it'll secure living in their flat for indefinite time.
Should have behaved differently. Should talk to her about love and good will. Next time will do it rightaway

@hyde As long as Mozilla is funded with half a billion dollars from Google and other surveillance capitalists every year, I wouldn’t trust them with a drop of my data for any purpose whatsoever. They ARE the “Big Tech” they speak of.

Don’t get me wrong, GitHub Copilot sounds awesome. I love the idea of an AI giving me code suggestions (how cool). What’s not awesome is that free/open code was used to create a closed/proprietary data model and tools that will once again enrich Big Tech douchebags like Musk.

Reading audiobooks is still reading.

If you say you read an audiobook you don't have to "correct" yourself. I'd argue that you /shouldn't/, that you'd get less correct.

There's no need to say "well no I didn't read it" if it was an audiobook. There's no need to put "reading" in scare quotes.

It's reading just as much as reading print is.

I know there are worse problems, but it sucks having my favored reading format denigrated by sighted people, even to the point of them denying it's "real."

It is my policy to ignore basically anything that the new york times or the guardian or any other major western news outlet says about China, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. These media corporations are incapable of unbiased reporting on these topics and serve merely as mouthpieces for western capitalist-imperialist powers, whether corporate or governmental.

This should be your policy also.
