I've never felt like I fit in on any other instance as much as blorbo.social, so I will be sad, but this is necessary for me. When the instance chooses to defederate in the future, I will return to this account.

Until then! Take care. ❤️

Authorized fetch has been enabled and users have the option to block Threads as individuals, but I am morally and philosophically opposed to voluntary federation with any of Mark Zuckerberg's predatory companies.

If the behaviour would cause a small instance to be defederated, Threads should be held to the same standard. Currently, that's not happening.

Thank you for having me this past year, blorbo.social! 🙏

With the recent decision re: federation with Threads, I cannot in good conscience remain here. I could give reasons relating to my identity and speak about not feeling safe or protected as a black transgender man, but that would feel too accusatory toward the admin and mod team. I am annoyed, frustrated, and disappointed, yet harbor no hard feelings toward them as individual people.

I'm going to be using my old/previous Mastodon account for a few days so I can observe some things from a distance, so this account will be quiet for a bit. Have a good weekend y'all, and good luck.
Here's how the "Ship of Theseus" page looked in July 2003 when it was first created! Since then, the article has been edited 1792 times. 0% of its original phrases remain.
I'm jealous of people who live in or near a dark sky (or have the means to regularly travel to one). I've never seen a sky full of stars (to the naked eye) and I don't think I ever will, to be honest. :(

Swedish anti-fascists have published the entire customer database of a Scandinavian online shop that specializes in nazi paraphernalia, clothing and music.

The dump includes 200,000 names, email addresses, delivery addresses, and (in the case of Swedish customers) social security numbers.

"Our goal, and what has already happened is that anti-fascists in other countries have started to work on their Nazis.”

The Names of Thousands of Neo-Nazi Music Fans Just Got Leaked

Thousands of purveyors of neo-Nazi tunes just had their day ruined by a crew of enterprising Scandinavian anti-fascists.

The most common place people encounter book history is not in the library, but through popular media. This is where Pop Bibliography – the intersection of vibes and material culture – comes in! I wrote about it on my blog: https://www.bookhistoria.com/blog/pop-bibliography

Harry Potter *. The Elder Scrolls . Star Wars . Dungeons and Dragons . TRON: Legacy . Magic: The Gathering . None of these media properties are ostensibly about old books, but nevertheless feature them as mood-setting backgrounds, key props, and markers of an ambiguously-defined past. And the

The recent excitement surrounding Thread's arrival on the Fediverse is concerning. To understand why this is not a good idea, consider their economic interest in harvesting data, their poor moderation, and their manipulations. Nothing good can come from their federation. Don't roll out the red carpet for them.
