@dk Haven't tried it but looking at the first screenshot in its App Store listing, Uplock seems like a promising solution: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/uplock/id6469049274

Download Uplock by Foyer Objet Inc. on the App Store. See screenshots, ratings and reviews, user tips, and more apps like Uplock.

@simonbs Haven't had the opportunity to try it + I prefer to keep my expectations in check, but I'm curious how well this new skill works: https://github.com/ParthJadhav/app-store-screenshots

@nileane @SalvagedTechnic Yeah iOS (and macOS) have support per-app language preferences since 2019 with iOS 13, while Android added it in 2022 with Android 13 (with varying level of success unfortunately, since a lot of apps never implemented it in my experience, especially the non-native apps): https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2022/11/per-app-language-preferences-part-1.html

@wtrmt @root42 Sequoia added a setting in the Mac App Store to install apps larger than 1 GB to a an external disk: https://support.apple.com/guide/app-store/download-install-large-apps-a-separate-disk-fir06754f864/mac
Haven't tested it but from what I understand, it creates all the necessary folders (Applications, Library and so on) on the disk automatically.
@matt_birchler Side note / quick tip: you can get perfect shapes in Markup by holding after drawing them! Just in case you didn't know given the rough circles in the screenshot 😄

Ever wanted Xcode on iOS it self? Entirely offline without even a Mac or cloud compiling… then I created the solution.. Nyxian.. it runs on jailed iOS.. and is open source, you can compile and research it your self.. it even has increment and threading. https://t.co/NP8jZ1Nj2P

@gracjan @mipstian A good alternative I found for Instagram links is to open them in imginn.com, which doesn't show any of these annoying popups. I have an auto-redirect rule set up with the RedirectWeb app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/redirectweb-smart-url-router/id1571283503
If you find it too expensive and don't plan to use it much, buy individual regular tickets (2,05€ bus & tram / 2,55€ metro), but you'll also need specific ones for airports (14€).
If you like transit systems, you might want to try the newly opened cable car line in the south outside of Paris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqP4QipFCkc&feature=youtu.be (2/2)

@rmondello Not a specific place recommendation & I know you said you'll prioritize walking, but just wanted to mention that metro paper tickets are not sold anymore since November 2025.

Luckily, they're now available to buy directly in the Wallet app!
For unlimited rides including airports, get the Paris-Visit pass (78€ for the 5 days). I think it also offers discounts at various places: https://www.transilien.com/fr/sites/transilien/files/paris-visite-discounts.pdf (1/2)
