Freaking out a bit here... last night found (and killed) the second brown recluse in a fortnights time!

Professionals have been called πŸ•·

I have always loved the blues, even when they take on a purple hue. Here are some Veronica speedwell, an ancient Dwarf iris, and a sea of Ajuga.
I have since lost the speedwell, but the Ajuga proves to be a most hardy ground cover and looks lovely under my white dogwood. The dwarf iris patch continues to bloom after 30+ years, despite my failure to divide!

@takeo Absolutely incredible! Your shading skills are mad!
@neauoire This is the second time today I’ve seen yellow raspberries (salmon berries?) and have never even heard of them! First sight from my gf in Perth. Bet your cake will be beautiful!
My cup runneth over

Pointed out by my curious cat, this unwelcome creature was sitting in my bathroom sink this morning, bold as brass. I thought they hid in dark places?!

Now I am on a semi panicked cleaning spree... #brownrecluse #spider #eek #shakyphoto

Wow! Great capture! Tho I have heard coyotes on our property many times, always late at night... I have never caught a glimpse!
@fitheach The Humanist funeral... I really like this idea. Seems quite proper. I recently attended the Christian funeral of a close relative, and you were spot on... all religion with a bit of the person shoe-horned in.

Some friends in England were commenting on the fact that the butterflies seem to be missing this summer, and it dawned on me that I haven't seen any either (in North America) despite having planted several flowering shrubs this year, including a purple nanho butterfly bush.

Plenty of bumbles and hummingbirds, to my delight, but zero butterflies. Here are a few bees & bugs on petals, some from our Botanical Garden, and the Morning Primrose from my own garden.
